Its time……..

The time is nearly upon us, it is time for my children to shine.

In less than a week they will be called upon to make me proud and I am fearful they may not be up to the task.

This Sunday marks a day that has been anticipated greatly by twin girl, it is the day in which two of our best friends will turn to each other and say I do.  That is on the proviso of course that none of my children destroy the Church before they reach the alter.

Twin girl is bridesmaid, she managed to lose her first tooth just in time so she can perfect a wonderful toothy grin.  She is so excited but also making herself ill with fear that the brides dress may be prettier than hers.  We are also having shoe trauma, Twin Girl would prefer to wear Lady GaGa style heels whereas I have opted for simple ballet shoes, unpopular is not even close to how she currently views me.

Twin Boy is a Page Boy.  This strikes fear into my very bones.  I love my boy to bits but quietness and concentration are not his strong points.  If he makes it down the aisle without waving wildly at the crowd, kicking the flowers,  pointing out inappropriate hats and telling everyone that little Georgie at school says “f in” is swearing I will be happy.  I have already accepted that he will spill his dinner down his shirt and he is likely to shame us through the speeches with his on going commentary but as with all things when your expectations are low even children can surprise you…

And finally BB, she is a baby bridesmaid.  She has a headful of glue following on from lasts weeks EEG and is currently going through a “demanding” stage.  If she isn’t attached to the breast, eating chocolate buttons or walking round on our fingers whilst we arch our backs in agony then quite simply she is stamping her feet and screeching in such a manner than twin boy looks on with envy.

You know at weddings there is always one table you don’t want to sit at?   In this case I think it may be ours….

“As a disclaimer, should the lovely bride or groom read this, we as parents promise to do all in our power to control the children.

 We will try….

Should we fail we would like to remind you that you have helped us raise twin boy and girl and you are BB’s godparents so in some way, surely, we can blame you….

In addition we love the pair of you so much and the whole northernmum family cannot wait to watch you pledge your love to each other.  Good friends are hard to find and to watch two of you promise to spend your life eternal together will be absolutely fabulous,  lots of luck and love for your happily ever after.”

For the rest of you, I promise to blog the trauma that is The Wedding….

When you blog about it, you’ll be able to make it funny and endearing, and that will help you get over the stress and mortification. Not that there will be any of that 🙂

How wonderful. You’ll have to write a post on Wedding: The Aftermath. Sounds like a super movie idea…
